Tiller
Overview
These instructions describe the installation of a Tiller. Both sides are to be considered analogue.
In Premium Plug & Fly versions, the tillers are already installed. In this case, you do not need these instructions.
Hardware Assembly
A drilling template was included in the scope of delivery. Please use this to drill the holes.
- Drill the holes in the surface on which the tiller is to be mounted. The position of the drill holes is described by the drilling template.
- Mount the Tiller mechanics from below the surface as shown in the following picture.
- Place the Tiller Disc as schon in the following picture and pull the cable through the surface.
- Mount the Tiller handle, including the spring and the Tiller knob, as shown in the following picture.
- Fix the Tiller handle with the the screws from both sides below the surface. The following picture shows one of the two screws.
- Connect the connector with the USB board and the 12V light to the corresponding power supply.
- Calibrate your Tiller in the Windows USB Game Device and in the software of your Flight Simulator.
Wiring
Wiring should be done after assembly of sidestick and tiller with side base.
The following functions need to be wired:
- Sidestick
- Button Red push button
- Button Black front handle
- Axis Handle movement left and right
- Axis Handle movement up and down
- Tiller
- Button Push button on top
- Axis Control wheel
The side base does not require a separate power supply.
Connectors are plugged into the joystick card which is mounted to the sidestick mechanic.
Buttons have a two wires connector. Axis have a three wires connector.
Please connect wires according to the following example.
The order of the cables on the joystick card is not important. But make sure that you don’t mix 3-wire cables and 2-wire cables.
Once you have connected everything you need - connect to a PC or Mac using a standard USB A to B cable and the device will be recognised as a generic game device. You can then either calibrate or assign your controls using your chosen game or software as you would with any other game controller. That's it!
Make sure that handle movements cannot not interfere with cables.
