New day. Firstly, we prepare the installation of the projectors. To do this, we first fit the projector holders to the projectors. Then the first projector is mounted. One thing we can say in advance. The overhead work left us with sore muscles the next day. Maybe we should do more sport... ;-)
Historically, we have a system of black profiles on the ceiling. There are several reasons for this. Firstly, the ceiling is so high that we needed a kind of platform to fix the projectors at a suitable height. Secondly, we didn't have much of an idea at the beginning where the projectors would end up. We wanted to remain flexible. Another argument is our lightweight ceiling. It consists of thin panels. From a structural point of view, we wanted to distribute the weight of the projectors over a larger area. Finally, there are three reasonably aligned projectors hanging from the ceiling and our body workout is coming to an end. We are very curious and start the simulator, even without warping. How cool is that? We now recognise grass on the ground. And birds in the air!
We will need to sort and arrange the cables. In the next blog post, we will look at the calculation of the visual and the calibration.

Well done Chris, i know the efforts behind this project…. I am extremely interested in you „parallax“ situation and how to solve
That your projector is not recognized in off state, is very likely an issue with the graphics card. Search for Edid emulator. This little adapter should allow you to do your maint work with all screens being discovered by Windows also in off state.
Wow! Thank you very much for this hint, Michael!
We will try or this emulator and report back. It would help to solve a really annoying problem!
Hi guys,
I received a few question regarding the projector type I am using:
This is the one:

Hi Chris, who did you manage the correct position/distance of the beamers? They dont have an optical zoom.... Or will that be managed by the warping soft? With my single ultra short beamer i buildt a variable beamer mount...
Hello Andy,
First, place the projectors roughly so that they cast their light onto the projection surface. The images must overlap. In a second step, the warping software ensures a smooth transition from one projector to another.
We use Fly Elise Designer for customers to calculate projection and projector positions. However, this software is too expensive for a one-off use. In this case, you can simply switch on the projector, hold it above your head and manually determine the first (centre) position. Then mount it and continue with the second projector, and so on. I know it sounds a bit unconventional, but it works this way too. :-)
I hope that was understandable. If not, please let me know.
Regards, Christian
So also the distance is calibrating by the Software and no Manuale Setting is nescessary?
Well, at least not as far as we know. We position the projectors manually within the software, but the software let us find the best position rather easily. In case you are interested in details, you may watch a demo of Fly Elise Designer. Not sure if they have a free trial. https://fly.elise-ng.net/immersive-designer-pro/
