Sunday, 11 January 2026 The good thing about a flight simulator is that it requires very little maintenance. Nevertheless, you should clean it regularly. But you know how it is: you often procrastinate, even though it doesn't take long at all. ;-) A cloth will quickly prove ineffective due to the many buttons and switches. The easiest way is to use a vacuum cleaner with a suitable attachment. Windows and controls are best cleaned with mild soapy water. This is also perfectly adequate for disinfection. ![](https://www.vier-im-pott.com/images/easyblog_articles/617/b2ap3_large_IMG_1387.jpg) **Warning!** **Avoid harsh cleaning agents, such as chlorine-based disinfectants.** You should also refrain from using glass cleaners on panels and flight controls, as this may cause the paint to peel off over time. Especially when someone suddenly appears outside the cockpit window. We call that window cleaning and during the next stop at our homebase someone comes with a ladder and cleans the windows from the outside.
